2011 Message from the chairman of the board and Publisher Rey Fortaleza

There are a lot of reasons for us at the ReyFort Media Group to be excited about 2011.

At a well attended appreciation evening for friends and advertisers on October 25 at the Holiday Inn Vancouver on Broadway, we laid a number of key initiatives this year.

Topping the list is an increase in the circulation numbers of our publications, namely the Philippine Asian News Today, Philippines Showbiz Today and Living Today Magazine.

After breaking new ground with the launch last year of the TV news magazine program Balitang Vancouver, we are preparing to follow this up with two more shows. These are the Joey Albert show, and the Batang Canucks Kids TV Program.

Also on the drawing board is a new program called Tinig Filipino. This year will also feature a number of key events.These include the 2011 Maharlika Awards to honour outstanding Filipino Canadians. A follow-up to the widly successful to the biggest gathering of Filipino Canadians in British Columbia. Another event being organized is a Pinoy Octoberfest this fall.

Living Today creative editor Mel Tobias is the key person leading three very promising nd pioneering events. These include an improve laugh fest featuring Filipino Canadian stand-up comiss, a Filipino food festival, and a Filipino film festival.

The PNT Singing Idol talent contest will mark its fourth year in 2011. Other talent contents will be unveiled this year. These include Hataw Syaw dance competition, and the ballroom dancing contest.
