Balitang Vancouver

balitang vancouverBalitang Vancouver is the first independently produced local newscast about the Filipino community in BC. It is the only Filipino show aired on local channel, not cable, which is Omni Channel 8. It joins other multicultural programs and newscasts on the Omni, such as the Cantonese, Mandarin and Punjabi news.

What this means is that -it is our community's representative on the only multicultural channel TV broadcast in British Columbia. 

Balitang Vancouver is a 30-minute weekly news magazine show, which airs at Shaw Multicultural Channel 116 Mondays  at 10:30 pm - 11:00 pm. Featuring of what happened within the Filipino community over the past week, it also includes news about Filipino personalities in the community, their issues, significant accomplishments and activities. The show also features a "Kababayan Profile", "Pinoy Project" and "Pinoy Gimmick" segment. It is presented by a team of people who are knowledgeable and experienced in news production.

For quick facts on Omni's audience: A reach of approximately 3.2 million viewers from Metro Vancouver to Chilliwack, Victoria to Nanaimo, Sunshine Coast to Squamish and across Canada.
