"Batang Canuck" TV Kids Program - An offshoot of the very successful PNT Singing Idol, now on its 4th season, is the planned Children's TV program. There's a lot of talent among the Filipino Canadian kids, and surely "Batang Canuck" is there to discover them, when it aim on a monthly broadcast beginning 1st Qtr of 2011. Tinig Pinoy (radio pinoy!) - Among the most anticipated offering in ReyFort Media's 2011 initiatives is the new radio broadcas Tinig Filipino to begin airing in the 1st Qtr of 2011. Expected to be in the same format reminisces of DZMM and DZRH news programming, TF is a radio commentary, OPM nostalgia, and new broadcast rolled into one great show. This will complete the broadcast td-media network of the ReyFort Media.
2011 Maharlika Awards - Nominations for the 2nd year 2011 recipients of this prestigious annual award recognizing "Ang mga Dakilang Filipino ng British Columbia" begins in February 1. Slated tentatively in July 2 in celebration of Canada Day, the ReyFort Media Group and the Filipino Canadian Cultural Heritage Society of BC are now gathering support from the business community to make this a truly prestigious event.
SE Asian B2B Tade Expo 2012 - Hosted by ReyFort Media Group's affiliate company, Palengkeng-Pinoy Trade and Exchange Network, Inc. (PP10) in cooperation with other South East Asian communities, this Business to Business Trade Show and Exhibit will showcase businesses from all over the Asian market, and hopes to attract entrepreneurs, investors, franchisers, and other entities wanting to consider the Metro Vancouver market as a viable business prospect.
Filcan Improv Laugh Test - Presented by no less than respected author and writer Mel Tobias, being one of his pet projects, the LAUGH FEST is slated to get into full swing also by the 1st Qtr of 2011. Mel foresees a great follow ing on this as he recognizes the Filipino's love for humor and stand up comedy. This will be anothe alent recognition regular showcasing the Filipino ingenuity and wit, at its very best.
Filipino Food Festival - Another Mel Tobias project aimed at celebrating cuisines of Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. Mel believes that this is one way of promoting the Filipino taste and food variety to the Canadian market. Slated for the flower month of May 2011, the buffet bonanza and food festival hopes to bring ogether the best Filipino chefs to the festival kitchen.
Filipino Film Festival - This is the final Mel Tobias initiative, and the one closest to the heart of this prolific author, as he presents, in documentary format, award-winning films from and about the Philippines. Planned ..howing will coincide with the 2011 anniversary celebration of Philippine Independence as a kick off event.
Balitang Vancouver Anniversary Show 2012 - This early, after a very successful launching of this first Filipino TV news program on regula annel (OMNI Channel B) broadcasted in the entire province, surely them is much to see as the recap their first year in an anniversary offering come September 10, 2010. Credibility and expert -nce defines the shows quality and one can't wait to see how the first 365 days is captured and pre ented on its anniversary show.
Pinoy Oktoberfest 2012 - Another historic, social and fun event, celebrated worldwide in the German tradition but with a Filipino touch, Pinoy Oktoberiest will showcase a "BARN Country" Festival, complete with feature like "Battle of the Bands", "Westem line-dancing" and cowboy games. Scheduled for October 22nd of next year, this fall event will surely attract even non-Filipino merrymakers and fun-loving crowds.
The Ballroom Challenge of 2012 - Not to be outdone by the hip-hop speed of the younger generation, this competition will celebrate "race and style at the dance floor, where the emphasis is on elegance and calculated turns and pins. This is what all DI's and dancing schools have been waiting for, as they see their students of all ages, exhibit unique renditions of Tango, Rhumba, Cha-Cha, Swing, etc. This is surely a show to watch... and be part of.
